Another excellent microphone famous in the media industry is the EV RE20. It is a professional broadcast announcing instrument often used for its incredible qualities. To sum it up, the RE320 is designed for optimization with brass instruments, while the EV RE20 is better for instrument applications and vocal sounds.

The microphone is a little on the larger side - but thats the price to pay for the variable D (proximity reducing design), but not too unwieldy, fits in a tight enough space on my desk on a fairly basic desk mic stand - without issue.
