Being at the pricier end of the spectrum, I would usually only plump for Twinings if I spied it on offer somewhere. Given that it does feel rather more suited to afternoon scones with the Queen than a rushed, microwaved job ahead of mid-week Zoom calls, it doesn't exactly feel in sync with my day-to-day life.

If you like tea, this reasonably priced option may good enough for you. If you're on the fence about tea or not a fan, I'd avoid it all costs. I will definitely not be repurchasing. One of the more distinctive teas on the market, Twinings doesn't have the same bitterness that spoils so many other products. For me, Sainsbury's Fairly Traded Red Label Tea Bags manages to be both bitter and plain, achieving confusing heights of disgust that has most definitely put me off ever trying tea again for life. My mum, who's so obsessed with tea it may as well be hooked up to her via an IV, had rather smugly suggested this test would finally convert me to being an avid tea drinker. Alas, she was wrong. When it comes to sourcing great teas, Ringtons is a name you can trust. We’re dedicated to bringing our customers the very best tea, no matter whether it’s loose leaf teas or in a tea bag; the quality will always be exceptional when you buy from us. That’s what sets Ringtons tea apart; we know what good tea really is, and we want to share our love of a cuppa with everyone. Onto the taste test then. I made a cuppa the same way I always do, letting the round bag brew in hot water for around 3-4 minutes before adding the tiniest splash of milk. It was warm and soothing in the way a cup of tea always is if you're into it. But it had nowhere near the flavour of Yorkshire Tea. I really couldn't taste the tea very much at all if I'm honest.

Our Ringtons tea includes unique fruit and herbal infusions and classic blends like English Breakfast tea in enveloped tea bags, and our wonderful teas are there for everyone to enjoy.

At 31, I remain a staunch hater of tea so I'm not sure how reliable my review of Sainsbury's Fairly Traded Red Label Tea Bags is. After all, you wouldn't ask a vegetarian for a steak recommendation, would you? I am a big fan of a cuppa, I won’t lie. There’s never a time of day I won’t have one, morning, noon or night, it’s pretty much my go-to drink. However, that said, this is a very good quality tea, and one that I don't mind buying every now and then as a special treat. Of course, I had to sip it from my fanciest Jane Austen Museum china cup, like the lady I am and was pleased as ever by the light flavours and comforting toastiness.Look at our online store to find great tea gift sets with gift messaging that are just perfect gifts for tea lovers. Our individually wrapped tea bags and tea bag envelopes can add a real touch of elegance to your overall tea-drinking experience.
