This had the feel of a very magical Christmas story, particularly from the illustrations, the story wasn't intended to be a 'funny' book but suddenly the boy talked about farting and stopping the magical little horse from eating dog poo, which seemed a particularly pointless addition.

Unfortunately, the story fell a bit flat for me, although it contains a magical element, it had a strange almost disjointed plot and an odd, unconvincing ending.
