On the nose Cockburn’s Fine Ruby show’s fresh and appealing red fruit aromas such as red cherry and raspberry.

But it also has the elegance of age the softness and smoothness that can only be achieved by slow ageing in old oak barrels. Cockburn’s was founded in 1815 by Robert Cockburn, a Scottish soldier who served in Portugal during the Peninsular War. Cockburn's Special Reserve is a port created from a variety of high quality grapes, which are all hand picked. The wine is made from grapes from the finest vineyards in Upper Douro and is aged for five years in oak casks before being bottled. Tawny Port Wines are young wines of several years, aged between two and three years in wood barrels, giving them aromas of nuts.
