At first the coffee and Rose are both very strong, it’s a bit like they don’t go together and are fighting to see who will win. The DNA in this fragrance smells exactly like Xerjoff's k'bridge club to me -- and it is just as addicting. I find Ristretto Intense Café to be a bit sweeter initially and in the middle notes, but I love them both. VERYYY) unfortunately, the drydown arrives quite quickly within 10 minutes and it’s down to Roses Vanille, period. First spray is a blast of slightly bitter but lush coffee (LOVE IT); I was hoping the rest of the perfume would keep this scent but it disappears after a minute or on dry down.

Yes, rose is clearly present throughout; however, Ristretto smells more like burying your nose in a paper bag of a freshly ground dark roast.It doesn’t really help that out doesn’t really have any discernible notes, it’s just something sweet and syrupy that makes me go: I’ve smelled this before.

I can barely smell it on myself, unless I bring the spray point to my nose and this is a massive disappointment.

I was kinda spoiled on Montale instantly, having never experienced that sort of jammy rose coffee opening, ever in my life. The burst of rich caramel espresso transported me to a cafe on the Swiss Italian lakes in the springtime, a very specific evocation to be sure. There seems to be something spicy in the scent, perhaps it is the Montale musk which seems to have a peppery edge, it is the same in their Roses Musk scent that I also own, but in that scent this edgy aroma comes off more like clove.
