SwitchVogel I don't mean to bother you by tagging you and I promise this isn't just fanboy complaining, I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts. And yes, for those who want to point it out, I'm aware there are some minor differences between the content of playing the games separately vs combined. Its another reason why I think that option should have been given for those that want it.

The "Killer Apps" were fantastic, but still not worth the price of admission for most, when the Saturn was on the horizon so it was obvious they'd have a short shelf life, like the 3dO and Jaguar - again, both of which have a handful of incredible titles well worth owning... just not enough to justify the console cost at the time. I've been a rabbid Sonic fan since 1991. Consumed everything about Sonic, even all the comics, anime, etc. I've owned and played every game. The 1991-1994 period was a glorious time to be a Sonic fan, and a Sega one as a whole. Everything going from strength to strength, bigger and better each time... Epps, DeAngelo (April 20, 2022). "Sonic Origins collection releases in June with confusing DLC". Digital Trends. Archived from the original on June 24, 2022 . Retrieved May 19, 2022. That said, the 2 Sonic movies broke records for videogame movies (until Mario smashed it... but they still beat Pokemon anime and Detective Pikachu) and Frontiers is the fastest selling Sonic game ever, and the highest selling in exactly 20 years. Its certainly on a big upswing. I'd predict the 3rd Sonic movie will do very well, but won't beat the Mario movie's box office. I'd predict that sales or Superstars could get kind of close to Mario Wonder (maybe 50%) but only because its available on all consoles plus PC... and Mario will still outsell it by a large margin. Switch has a huge install base and first party games sell well. But despite me being fairly certain the Mario games and movies will continue to outsell Sonic, the 2 franchises are as close as they've been in 30 years, and thats exciting for people like me, who like them both, and things like Sonic comics and tv shows exist in their own bubble with no Mario equivalent, and are more popular than they've ever been.

Sonic - Features

Release as early as August/September this year - this is what I'm hoping for, though seems a bit soon... I went into detail about why Sonic/Mario games appeal to / annoy different people in this comment: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/06/sonic-superstars-release-date-might-have-already-been-revealed#comment7672908 . They are very, very different styles of gameplay, not really directly compariable.

Corvus96 I didn't say they were the same. I said that they could be interpretted as "more of the same but add small changes and improvements along the way." then gave a detailed breakdown of how each new game had given a small change and improvement to the formula each time - such as Mario 3 adding the world map, Mario World adding Yoshi etc. You may have not asked for a "ba b Machkovech, Sam (2022-06-21). "Review: Sonic Origins is a tragic example of good classics ruined by greed". Ars Technica. Archived from the original on 2022-06-22 . Retrieved 2022-06-22. Yeah the remaster of Sonic colours is fine and all. Its not bad. Its just the Wii version is actually prettier and better in sevearl ways - as you said on Wii its 30fps and low res, however theres easy ways to emulate it and make it upscale and run better. Spin Dash your way through numerous zones in Classic mode with the game’s original resolution and limited lives, or the new Anniversary Mode with unlimited lives in revamped widescreen HD. Again, I don't say that to shame the NES, I love the system (in fact we are looking into making a Hazel platform game for it! And another for Gameboy!) just to point out the stark difference between the experience of being a gamer in the UK at the time, verses America or Japan (where the awesome PC Engine pushed the MkIII/SMS into a distant 3rd place). a b c Parrish, Ash (April 20, 2022).
