I believe Truck Norris did This with alot of his newer builds and backed them with silver light buckets. Gosh, think of how many hours it would take to tape off 90% of the model that I wanted to stay silver. I prefer their Game and Mecha range as they are claimed to resist handling better although I had not tested them properly yet.

Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. More recently I did this with Tamiya clear red, added a touch of clear blue and shot it over metallic rose gold ( rose gold depending on the angle can't quite decide if it a light goldish red/pink or silver red/ pink. when it comes to "clear coloured" paints, I have the usual jars of the Tamiya clear paints like X-23 clear red, X-27 clear blue etc. I use clear paints CONSTANTLY, they are excellent to give you sweet metallic colors when put overtop of gunmetal/mithril/whatever and lets you do detail work or freehand that looks crazy when the crisscross of under/overcoat shine through. Not the best photo in the world but I assure you, all the parts that have been gloss coated are very smooth. I use the FW Clear Red without an airbrush, it's akin to the old GW inks, so water based and can be thinned with Lahmian Medium or specific airbrush thinner if required. What I do since I'm using lacquer clearcoat over it is mix it in my clear and then it won't have that reaction,, usually, at least not yet for me. Are there other good alternatives, or should I suck it up and add a Citadel bottle to my Reaper collection? I'm still learning , but does anyone else already use this stuff and if so, do you have any extra tips to "heighten the experience?

Been using X-22 for a while now, but tend to use Mr Levelling thinner as you can go back over the finish with a coat of just Mr Levelling thinner to smooth out any slight rough patches. It is assumed that the time of its complete drying on the surface of a plastic model is from 2 h to 4 h, depending on the ambient temperature and the thickness of the applied layer. I know people have applied multiple layers of ink to make colored metallics, but that is super time consuming and would be frustrating to do on all the little bits each model has. Aquaterry wrote:I may have been using it wrong, but I use it a lot for blood, as it has a very nice, glossy look to it. It dries quickly, doesn't fog like Klear does when covered by set/sol, and seems to offer a hard durable coat for the paint underneath.I'll paint the model normally, including the part which will be bloody, and then add the red over that. A side note, I tried the same thing with Mr Color lacquer, using their thinners not water of course, results wasn't too good.
