The NEON GENESIS EVANGELION Collector's Edition is a deluxe 11-disc set presented in a rigid case, containing a 40-page book, 8 art cards, the Official Dub and Subtitled versions, and the bonus Classic Dub and Subtitled versions. That’s usually blamed on budgetary issues with the production company Gainax, but it’s also partly due to Anno’s indecisiveness. I mean, when other anime/games can afford 1 instance of the song, then why have the "Clean ED" and the "Full-size ED" totally been removed?

A quarter century after it was first broadcast, Neon Genesis Evangelion remains one of the most influential and popular series in the history of Japanese animation. The series also had director’s cut versions for select episodes which were also released in English and eventually the series as a whole was then ‘remastered’ on DVD as a Platinum Edition. I first watched Neon Genesis Evangelion in 2012 and it was a series that I had wanted to check out due to its reception and sci-fi concept. Since then, this post-apocalyptic story of a young boy’s traumatic battle against the Angels that threaten to bring about the second end of the world has been viewed by millions of fans the world over, and has no doubt acted as the gateway anime for many fans the world over. You’re all tripping balls if you think any country aside from Japan influences decisions made in 90+% anime (or more importantly, manga and light novels as that’s what most anime adapt from as opposed to being original) and even that’s probably a conservative estimate.

It’s probably one of the most well known shows around, and I’m not even going to get into doing a deep dive on the series…at least not yet anyway. The “Complete Series” set ONLY contains the new Netflix dub (Casey Mongillo, Stephanie McKeon and Ryan Bartley). The best looking individual animation sequences of all time are still from movies and OVAs of that era, nothing has ever managed to come close since then. Fly Me to the Moon (Yoko Takahashi Acid Bossa Version)" is also used within the series but has a EU/US CD release. I own the original ADV dub on dvd and even that has many awkward additions to the voice-over that I don't like. On the other hand, it’s still an interesting example of the ways in which the editing process can affect the meaning of footage when it’s placed in different contexts.
