The ultimate Valentine's Day countdown - here are 10 romantic gestures to help sweep your partner off their feet! All our press photos are LIMITED ARCHIVE ORIGINALS - they are the actual prints that were used by the newspapers, they are not reprints or digital prints produced by us. Michael and Anne Heseltine tell the story of how they created their extraordinary garden and arboretum at Thenford. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages.

As Michael drives me to Banbury train station in his Jaguar, I ask him if he thinks he’s more likely to be remembered for his achievements in politics or his arboretum and garden. I very much hope that one of the lessons we as a nation will learn from the last couple of years is the therapeutic effects of gardens and greenery.

The value of original Press Photos prints has been steadily increasing in value and is expected to to continue doing so. As we zip down scattered paths and avenues among the trees and shrubs in the adjoining gardens, Michael points out features of interest. Press photos have been available to the public for just a few years, and similar to baseball cards, they have attracted investors and collectors.

At the moment, they open the gardens to the public four times a year; with the book, Anne says: “I’m not sure what’s going to happen. If all this – anxiety at the influx of the great unwashed; shooting; that throne – give an impression of elitism, the Heseltines are bracingly unconcerned. Their daily conversations with leaders and decision makers from Wall Street to Washington and beyond cover the latest in business, investment, and geopolitics. Some years ago, a journalist went to interview Lord Michael and Lady Anne Heseltine about their garden.

Having begun his career as a property developer, he became one of the founders of the publishing house Haymarket. It is also well-known for its sculpture garden, which has an eclectic collection of work ranging from a white marble Tazza fountain to an enormous statue of Lenin. They did what they believed in, and the consequences will one day be evident,” Michael says, and falls silent again. But Michael is king in the garden because his knowledge of plants has always been so much better than mine.Michael and Anne Heseltine give an illustrated talk on their new book Thenford - The Creation of an English Garden. This captivating image, taken in November 1990 by Arnold Slater from Memory Lane Prints, depicts Anne Heseltine, wife of Michael Heseltine MP, as speculation swirled about her potential role as Prime Minister, should her husband succeed Margaret Thatcher. When he is asked about his greatest political legacy, Michael is fond of answering that his garden will outlast all of it. They describe the ups and downs of how they set about transforming and expanding a wild, overgrown and often dilapidated woodland at Thenford into the magnificent garden they have today.

As he was doing so, the local rector arrived and wryly observed, “I think there are going to be some changes around here. Now the Heseltines want more people to enjoy the peace, tranquillity and beauty of Thenford so they’ve extended the number of opening days this year. I can tell you exactly when I feel it most,” Michael says, “on a cold January day when I’m out shooting, and I say to myself: ‘Why am I doing this?
