Small Batch: A subjective term signaling a bourbon made using a select number of barrels or recipes in a blended bottling. The Jim Beam was less bourbon’y, with the oak and vanilla notes being less prominent. However, the sweetness was more caramel, and the taste was a bit more complex. It also had a bit more of a pepper bite. Angel’s Envy does some great work in aging whiskey. Many would argue — myself included — that this expression isn’t the best example of that work. For me, it’s too sweet. Verging on high-fructose pancake syrup. If that’s what you dig in bourbon, please don’t let me stop you from loving this. Still, I find their more adventurous and refined expressions to be what people are really talking about when they name drop this brand.

Sarah Shadburne (February 20, 2020). "Distiller releases commemorative Derby bourbon". BizJournals.com (Llouisville) . Retrieved December 6, 2022. Many whiskey enthusiasts, including this bourbon reviewer, have long had a soft spot for Evan Williams. It just seems to go down so damn smooth without being too light or over-the-top sweet. Traditionally, Evan Williams has only come in a singular variety that was bottled at 80 proof, but that all changes with introducing their new 7-year-old Single Barrel Bourbon. The appearance of the bottle itself also is quite unusual. The bottle’s label includes a vintage year — a reference indicating the year the bourbon was put into oak barrels to age — that makes Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon unique and interesting. While it has the traditional bourbon notes of toasty oak and vanilla on the nose, there is an element of corn syrup floating around. The nose is very one-dimensional and not layered or complex. Evan Williams Honey Bourbon is quite easily found around the country at most local liquor stores. Some of our favorite national retailers that carry the bourbon include “Total Wine & More,” “Spec’s Wine, Spirits, & Finer Foods,” and “Walmart.” How expensive is Evan Williams Honey Bourbon? Yes, Evan Williams is a good sipping bourbon. It has a balanced flavor profile, and it is sweet and smooth.Peters, Josh (September 21, 2015). "Evan Williams Bourbon Review". The Whiskey Jug . B and B-: Good and above average. The best of the mass market whiskeys fit in this category, as do the bulk of the premium brands. A B- is three stars. The holiday is fast approaching; nothing special is like a glass of ready-to-pour Christmas bourbon.Day in Photos: July 27, 2011". The New York Post. July 28, 2011. competing in the BassMaster Elite Series Evan Williams Bourbon All-Star Championship Tournament Traditional Heaven Hill notes like Peanut Brittle are found on the tongue as well as some corn/cornbread notes, vanilla and more baking spices. The proof punch lets your tongue know this isn’t some wimpy 80 proof or even the standard 90 proof bottle. It’s much more bold without being too aggressive. The one thing it’s missing is fruit flavors. I can’t find any. Another fun side-by-side bourbon comparison, and this time I am looking at the Evan Williams vs Jim Beam bourbon whiskey. As part of my comparison series, I put these two well know budget brands next to each other so you can make an informed buying decision. Speaking of Heaven Hill, all of their whiskies are distilled at Bernheim Distillery which is located in Louisville. From there, the whiskey is barreled up and matured on one of six different campus’s that Heaven Hill owns.

Evan Williams has got to be one of the top-selling bourbons around. It’s cheap, smooth, and it sells well. That’s probably why they make it by the trainload. But Evan Williams is hardly the best bourbon you can buy and today we’ll take a look at some great Evan Williams alternatives. Heaven Hill 7 Year Bottled in Bond Each year, Evan Williams honors U.S. military veterans through its American-Made Heroes program by sharing individual inspiring stories and producing limited-edition bottles. In 2020, it expanded the program with the American-Made Heroes Foundation Fund. The mission of the foundation is to raise public awareness for causes impacting the veteran community, and to support nonprofit organizations that provide aid to veterans and their families in the wake of Covid-19. In 2020, with more expressions on the shelf than ever, there are a lot of bourbons competing for your attention. And yes, some of them seem to get a little too much shine. On the palate , this Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon delivers naturally sweet honey, candied pineapple, roasted oak, a little tobacco and smoke, vanilla, sliced orange, apple, peach, cinnamon, clove, and cocoa powder. After a few seconds, the oak gives off a slightly smoky fragrance that’s reminiscent of toasted wood. Let’s say you want to lean away from the middle of the road and into peaty whisky territory. You aren’t going to find a peaty, smoky, drinkable Scotch Whisky cheaper than Shieldaig Highland Peaty Single Malt. Although it’s origins are unknown, it’s a single malt from somewhere in the Highlands and it costs the same as bargain buys like Cutty Sark.
