You will feel the skin tightening and drying out as soon as you apply the Rigid Collodion. [14] X Research source I rarely clean objectives, when I do it's dampened cotton balls used once followed by Zeiss pre-moistened lens wipes to get the last traces of oil.

HOLTERMAN'S PHOTOGRAPHS. (1875, November 9). Evening News (Sydney, NSW: 1869 - 1931), p. 2. Retrieved November 4, 2018 As the Collodion dries, it literally shrinks your skin by pulling it inward. This will create a small indentation in your skin that should almost perfectly resemble a scar. While in Paris, René Dagron became familiar with the collodion wet plate and collodion-albumen dry plate processes which he would later adapt to his microfilm and Stanhope production techniques. EEG electrodes are commonly attached to the patient's scalp with rigid collodion for long-term treatmentThen intensify the bruise by mixing together the Dark Red and Blue with the sponge and patting over the center of the Bright Red. Use grease paint to add colors for burns, scrapes, or dripping blood. This is the best bet if you want to craft a burn, bleeding wound, or infection. Use a thin paintbrush or cotton swab and dip it into a small amount of your paint. Then, slowly drag the bristles against your skin where you want to apply the color. You can use a single shade of paint to give the wound some subtle color, or blend multiple colors together for a brighter, dynamic wound. [8] X Research source

The collodion process is an early photographic process. The collodion process, mostly synonymous with the "collodion wet plate process", requires the photographic material to be coated, sensitized, exposed, and developed within the span of about fifteen minutes, necessitating a portable darkroom for use in the field. Collodion is normally used in its wet form, but it can also be used in its dry form, at the cost of greatly increased exposure time. The increased exposure time made the dry form unsuitable for the usual portraiture work of most professional photographers of the 19th century. The use of the dry form was mostly confined to landscape photography and other special applications where minutes-long exposure times were tolerable. [1] History [ edit ] This deteriorated dry plate portrait of Theodore Roosevelt is similar to a wet plate image but has substantial differences. Collodion was used by Alfred Nobel in his development of blasting gelatin, a more powerful, flexible, and water resistant variation of his already-successful dynamite. You pour the prepared collodion mixture onto your substrate (plate). This can be aluminum, japanned steel, or any number of other surfaces. Many methods worked to an extent; they allowed the plate to be exposed for hours, or even days, after coating. They all possessed the chief disadvantage, that they rendered the plate extremely slow. An image could require anywhere from three to ten times more exposure on a dry plate than on a wet plate. After these steps the plate needed rinsing in fresh water. Finally, the plate was dried and varnished using a varnish made from sandarac, alcohol and lavender oil.

Spread spirit gum remover over the Collodion to wipe it off. Spirit gum is a skin-safe adhesive that makeup artists use to attach prosthetics. Simply pour a dollop into a cotton ball or pad and wipe the area repeatedly using soft, repetitive strokes. Once the Collodion is flakey and soft, gently peel it off of your skin.
