Comfort is my priority in a car seat and my daughter just fits this seat better - as if it were made for her. I highly recommend it to parents who are looking for a long-lasting, comfortable and safe car seat for their children. The Excalibur car seat can be securely fitted into your vehicle by using Isofix connection points, top-tether and/or by the adult 3 point seat belt making it compatible with a number of vehicles. The Cozy N Safe Excalibur Group 1, 2, 3 Car Seat is a multistage car seat with 4-point recline suitable for forward facing from 9 to 36kg which is 9 months to 11 years approximately. A second-hand seat bought through a second-hand shop or through the classified ads may have been involved in an accident and any damage to the seat that can weaken it may not be visible. Unless you can be absolutely certain of a second-hand car seat’s history, because it comes from a family member or a friend, it is best not to use one. If the harness is loose, the child could work their way out of their harness while you are driving or could be thrown from the seat in a crash. Make sure it isn’t twisted or tangled. If your child is in a rear-facing car seat DO NOT put them on the front seat if the airbag is active. When can I move my baby into forward facing seat? The materials are good quality too and look like they’ll be easy to clean. Amazingly, we’ve not had any spills yet but have treated greasy toddler fingers on the leathery area which we just wiped off.

I would suggest dividing the manual up into step-by-step instructions from start to finish for each of the different possible installation combinations instead of referring to other parts of the manual. I know this would be an increased cost as it would require a longer leaflet to be printed but this could simply be available to access online to save that cost. So confident, in fact, that I persuaded my daughter’s grandparents to take delivery of the Cozy N Safe so we could test it out in their car and I wouldn’t have to part with my own beloved car seat.

There’s a world of difference between a child dangling awkwardly out of her car seat straps during a nap in the car, and one snoozing softly, nestled in comfort.

Our nearly 4-year-old doesn’t nap anymore and rarely falls asleep in the car unless we drive really long distances ( like our trip to Wales earlier this year) or if it’s night-time and she should be in bed. We’ve not been on any road trips since getting this car seat so she’s not napped in it but I know she could fall asleep in it in the daytime as she’s been so close to nodding off but then we’ve reached our destination before she could fall asleep. My husband also loves how easy this seat is to install. It literally just clips into place and the top tether, which is a doddle to secure, makes it feel particularly sturdy and robust. I also like that my youngest can use it too if needed (see photo above). It’s a great seat to choose if you’re a childminder or grandparent of children of many ages that you might need to drive around as you can use the same car seat for children ranging from 9 months to 11 years by just adjusting it a little bit — which is really easy with this car seat!

Perhaps it doesn’t fit your requirements as expected, you’ve had a change of plans or you’ve simply changed your mind. After you’ve figured out how to best install it, it’s actually really simple and straightforward using either the Isofix or the seat belt. If your car has a top tether bit in the boot, you can possibly use that too. Allrepairs are undertaken by the manufacturer, independent of Little Angels Prams, but we will facilitate all collections and repairs. They will also be uncomfortable. If the child is too small, they may slip under the seat belt or harness in a crash. Is it a problem if my child car seat is a bit loose after I have fitted it?If the seat cannot be held securely, it can be thrown forwards in a crash and the child may be injured. I’ve got to start this review with a slightly embarrassing confession. When asked to review the Cozy N Safe Excalibur Group 1/2/3 car seat, I was fairly confident that nothing could compare to the car seat I was already using.

If the instructions are missing or any of the parts, it makes it more difficult to be sure that it is fitted correctly and that it is safe. The Excalibur is a combination Group 1/2/3 forward-facing car seat that’s suitable all the way from nine months to around twelve years old. Babies can legally move to a forward-facing seat at the 9kg minimum weight, however moving your child at 9kg forward-facing is not as safe as having them rear-facing. But once we relented and installed the Cozy N Safe Excalibur seat in our family car, we were completely smitten with it. So much so that I jumped at the chance to keep it, and have since palmed my own (vastly inferior, as it turns out) car seat off on the grandparents.
